Brookside School Cub Scout Troop #61 had a fun visit to the Maritime Museum and Antique Tool Barn. Of particular interest were the oxen yokes, the one-horse open sleigh, and stories of the spirit of a sailor lost at sea who once lived in the Pinkney House.
Bob Duff polling the crowd of campers from Five Mile River Nursery School on their love of carrots while reading The Carrot Seed, written by Ruth Krauss and illustrated by her husband Crockett Johnson. The couple lived in Rowayton for 27 years. Bob took the time from his busy schedule to help celebrate our new exhibit on Rowayton and the Purple Crayon which also includes original artwork by Jim and Jane Flora and Maurice Sendak.
